10: A Real Life Dire Wolf
Yellowstone National Park is known for its natural wonders and incredible wildlife, from grazing deer to wild grey wolves. Wolves were almost completely wiped out throughout most of the US by the early 1900’s. But in 1995, wild wolves were released in Yellowstone to try to help their numbers recover. January 12, 2020 was the 25th anniversary since wolves returned to Yellowstone and it is an amazing success story.

The ocean – that is, the deep ocean – is riddled with the stuff of nightmares. Fish with no eyes and giant teeth, monstrous sharks who can smell blood from far away, and dangerous jellyfish that ensnare and devour prey. But is there really a kraken at the bottom of the sea? Honestly, it’s not likely. But the closest thing to a real-life kraken is definitely the giant squid.
1: Panda Meets Horse in Northwest China
There is only one country in the world where you can find wild pandas coming down the road while walking your horse. Of course, it has to be China. A video from 2018 shows a man walking with his horse up a steep mountain trail in the Shaanxi Province of China when a panda comes walking down the trail towards them.
