March 11, 2020 5:54 p.m.- Clemson University officials were notified on March 11 that the test results for an individual being monitored for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, came back negative. At this time there are no changes to the academic calendar, including Spring Break, and no modifications to operations at any Clemson campus or location around the state. Students have been informed to prepare for the possibility of classes moving online at some point in the semester, though Clemson has made no decisions at this time.

March 11, 2020- Bob Jones University officials are reconsidering plans for summer sessions and trips. For students traveling out of the country for spring break, BJU is issuing a warning that they may be subject to a 14-day quarantine upon re-entry to the United States. Students are also encouraged to first call a telehealth hotline to get medical guidance from nurses concerning coronavirus testing.

March 12, 2020- Furman University has extended spring break for one week. Classes will then be moved online until March 27 or later. It also canceled all non-athletic events March 16-30. The university will not close, though students have been told to avoid campus.

March 12, 2020- North Greenville University has made no cancellations with the regular university calendar and the regular schedule still stands. The university said it’s monitoring the situation and giving extra attention to cleaning while also urging students to take precautions as outlined by the CDC.

March 12, 2020- Greenville Technical College said that students who plan to travel to any affected area should inform instructors if they are students and supervisors if they are employees.

March 11, 2020- Adam Sandler’s performance at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena on March 17 will be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The comic took to Twitter on Wednesday to make the announcement and to say his March tour dates would be rescheduled.

March 12, 2020 9:05 a.m.- Due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, Ten at the Top has made the decision to postpone their young professional event, Pique, until June 15th. It was originally scheduled for March 23rd. The event will still be held at the Huguenot Mill and Loft in downtown Greenville, with ScanSource as the presenting sponsor, and local author Sallie Holder as the keynote speaker.
