Experimental Charleston Restaurant Tu Closes Down

Tu [Official]

The team will retain the space though

Ever-changing restaurant Tu will no longer continue its regular service. In an announcement on Instagram, the owners wrote that the 430 Meeting Street establishment shut its doors, but will still be available for private events and parties with food from sister restaurant Xiao Bao Biscuit. The post also said, “Look out for one or more possible Indian dinners, we will be using our kitchen space for some exciting new business opportunities… But most importantly- Thank you to everyone who has supported our weird little dream.”

When Xiao Bao Biscuit co-owners Josh Walker, Duolan Walker-Li, and Joey Ryan opened Tu in 2017, the refrain about the restaurant was “unlike anything in Charleston.” In the land of shrimp and grits, the trio brought eclectic flavor combinations from across the globe, like crudo with guava cheese ice and an ultimate Crunchwrap Supreme.
