Charleston’s Long-Standing Pane e Vino to Become an Indian Restaurant

Another old-school Italian restaurant officially called it quits in Charleston, as Warren Street trattoria Pane e Vino will not reopen. Post & Courier reporter Warren Wise writes that the 17 Warren Street space will become an “Indian and American fusion” restaurant named Coterie. The owner is mixologist Jeremy Buck, who recently ran a Christmas pop-up at the same address.

Pane e Vino served Italian favorites to Charleston since 2006. Another longstanding Italian restaurant Fulton Five recently shuttered as well.

Chef Shuffles
Upcoming Sullivan’s Island restaurant the Longboard has named its executive chef — Will Fincher, formerly of the Obstinate Daughter. Fincher will focus on “refined island fare,” which means lots of seafood and tropical produce. The Longboard will open this summer at 2213-B Middle Street.
