Live music and summer are the perfect match. Luckily for Greenville residents, several great music series have begun offering a wide range of music each week. These music series offer a wide range of musical genres and are certain to please every music lover.

Here is a list of seven music series happening across Upstate South Carolina that offer great live music, beautiful settings, food trucks and more.

Red Horse Inn Wine of The Terrace Music Series

Set on a beautiful piece of land in the Blue Ridge foothills, The Red Horse Inn is an incredible place to catch some great live music. The venue features a huge patio with perfect views of sunsets over the ridge of Glassy Mountain and a wine bar offering snacks and beverages. New for 2021, the Red Horse Inn has added a lineup of Food Trucks for each event making it easy to plan an entire evening of fun.

The Red Horse Inn is offering music Thursday-Sunday every weekend through the summer. Musical genres range to fit every taste and the lineup features some of the Upstate’s best musical talent. You can view their upcoming schedule here.

About The Inn

The Red Horse Inn opened on about 200 acres in 1995 and offered guests picturesque views of the Blue Ridge Mountains just 45 minutes from Downtown Greenville and an hour to Downtown Asheville. With its main inn and standalone cottages, it has served both as the perfect romantic getaway as well as wedding and event venue. Each cottage offers its own distinct features as some have private hot tubs, others unparalleled views, and still others being pet friendly. The setting, coziness of the rooms and cottages, and the Wolter family’s passion for pleasing their guests have all combined to earn the Inn well deserved acclaim as a romantic destination from the likes of Travel & Leisure, Trip Advisor, Yahoo! and more.

The property also boasts a bit of living history as it serves as the home of My Little Secret, the great granddaughter of the Triple Crown winning Secretariat. Guests to the property can visit her and possibly even meet the inn’s two alpacas, Champagne and Waffles. The alpacas will actually be the featured guests as the concert series kicks off next week but we will talk more about that later.

Main Street Friday’s at Noma Square

greenville main street friday

Having grown up in Greenville, I can clearly remember the excitement that came from the building of the Hyatt hotel along main street in downtown. Officially dedicated in 1982, the Hyatt laid the foundation for all of the development now present in Greenville. Now almost 40 years later, the area around the Hyatt has grown into a beautiful plaza named Noma Square.

Noma Square features Roost restaurant and Kilwin’s Ice Cream and is home to the City of Greenville’s Main Street Friday Concert Series. Covid cancelled the series in 2020, but the city announced last week that this popular downtown event is returning for 2021.

This weekly music series on Main Street at NOMA Square opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 9:30 p.m., with bands playing two sets at 5:50 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. NOMA Square chairs go fast, so bring a tailgating chair if you are not arriving early.
