Hot off the heels of Josh Gad hosting a “Goonies” reunion, Philly’s finest put together a reunion of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” featuring several returning cast members.Actor, rapper and producer Will Smith, who stars as a character with the same name in the show, was joined by former castmates to recreate iconic scenes from the show. The actors present were Alfonso Ribeiro (Carlton Banks), Tatyana Ali (Ashley Banks), Karyn Parsons (Hilary Banks), Joseph Marcell (Geoffrey), DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jazz) and Daphne Maxwell Reid (Aunt Vivian). The first part of the star’s two-part series premiered Wednesday on Snapchat. The second will land Thursday, April 30, at 6 a.m. ET.A tribute will also be held for James Avery who played the character Uncle Phil. Avery died in 2013. In one clip, Smith asks Ribeiro if he remembers how Smith’s character came to be named after his real name, to which Ribeiro remembers it was his own suggestion.”We had talked and I said, ‘Look, if you’re ever going to do this show, you’ve got to be Will Smith,'” Ribeiro recalled.
