United Community Bank Ice on Main Celebrates 10th Anniversary with 2020-21 Season

The start of the holiday season kicked off today in downtown Greenville with United Community Bank Ice on Main. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the City’s open-air ice rink and skaters can enjoy extended hours of operation through January 31. To accommodate limited capacity and social distancing at the ice rink, tickets will be available for purchase as date-specific, timed sessions.

“We are always excited for a new season of United Community Bank Ice on Main,” said Michelle Seaver, President of Greenville County for United Community Bank. “This is a tradition we all look forward to as it gives our community a unique opportunity to connect during the holiday season. The rink is a place where we can come together to make memories with loved ones, and we are honored to return as presenting sponsor for the eighth consecutive year.”

In an effort to provide a safe ice skating experience, the following modifications have been made this season:

·    Limited capacity of ice rink skaters and attendees to comply with the Governor’s Executive Order and recommended CDC guidelines.

·    A new Lidl Viewing Area above the rink to help with overflow visitors to the rink.

·    Signage and physical cues such as tape and stanchions to help maintain social distance.

·    Use of a face covering for the safety of others.

·    Frequent disinfecting of high touch surfaces and rental ice skates after each ice skating session.

·    Hand-sanitizing stations placed throughout the ice rink area.

United Community Bank Ice on Main is proud to offer adaptive skate sleds courtesy of Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital. The sleds will be available at the rink at all times and interested participants can visit the Skate Shed to request one.

Additional ice rink sponsors include: Piedmont Natural Gas, T-Mobile, Lidl, the Greenville Drive, WYFF 4, Community Journals, iHeartMedia, Gimme-A-Sign, Courtyard by Marriott Greenville Downtown, Windsor/Aughtry Company and Triangle Construction
