A 38-year-old man was killed Tuesday night after striking a tree while trying to evade law enforcement in Spartanburg County, according to Trooper Joe Hovis, with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The accident happened just after 9 p.m. on Ray Blackley Road, Hovis said.
