Suspect arrested for deadly stabbing in Buncombe County, deputies say

A man has been charged with first-degree murder following a stabbing Monday in Barnardsville, according to Aaron Sarver, with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.Charles David Jackson is accused of fatally stabbing Jason Hartzell, 33, of Barnardsville.According to Sarver, deputies were notified by the Asheville Police Department that Hartzell was brought to Mission Hospital and had been a victim of a stabbing.The stabbing took place off Barnardsville Highway and the pair knew each other, Sarver said.Deputies believe it to be an isolated incident, Sarver said.
