South Carolina Ranks 40th in Covid-19 Vaccination Rate

While Vermont has the highest percentage of its population fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the CDC ranks South Carolina 40th in the nation for Covid-19 vaccination rates with 34.89% of South Carolina residents having been fully vaccinated. SC DHEC reports that number at 38.4%. These numbers are well below the national total of 42.1%.

A number of initiatives have been proposed to increase South Carolina’s Covid-19 Vaccination rate including the Shot and a Chaser Events where participants can receive a free craft beer along with the vaccine at South Carolina breweries. In the Upstate, several of these events are planned:
