Police investigating Florida principal seen video paddling 6-year-old student

A Florida principal was captured on video paddling a six year old student. Many counties in Florida allow corporal punishment, but Hendry County, where the incident occurred, is not one of them. According to the report, the student had caused $50 damage to a school computer. When the mother arrived at the school, officials indicated that paddling may be used as punishment and that a deputy would be present. However, a deputy was not present for the paddling in the video captured by the student’s mother. It appears that the situation was also exacerbated by a language barrier.

Police are investigating the incident.
