It didn’t have to be this way. President Donald Trump, who appears to blame the World Health Organization for all that has gone wrong with the pandemic, on Monday claimed he has “total power” to re-open the US. On Tuesday, he seemed to acknowledge that he doesn’t. But the president of the United States does possess more power than anyone on Earth. If Trump had used it wisely, this pandemic could have turned out differently.
