North Carolina health officials on Tuesday reported another record high for single-day COVID-19 hospitalizations.According to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, there were 5,255 new COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday, bringing the state total to 488,902. There are 3,001 people in the hospital, which is up from Monday.State health officials say there are 689 patients with COVID-19 in the ICU across the state.
