National Weather Service Says Greenville Faces Increased Fire Danger Friday

…INCREASED FIRE DANGER THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACROSS NORTHEAST GEORGIA AND UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA… Dry high pressure will begin to build into the area today behind the departing cold front. Fuel moisture values are very low due to lack of rainfall overnight. Windy conditions will develop this afternoon as deep mixing takes place. This combined with a dry air mass will allow relative humidity values to drop to around 25 to 30 percent. This will lead to increased fire danger across the area. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today. If you do burn, use extreme caution since fires can quickly get out of hand under these conditions.
