‘It’s hard to understand that:’ Mail carrier found shot to death in Indianapolis, suspect arrested

Police have arrested a suspect in the killing of a mail carrier in Indianapolis.Tony Cushingberry, 21, was apprehended on Tuesday — one day after Angela Summers was shot on her delivery route. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects before Cushingberry’s arrest.Summers, 45, died of a gunshot wound to the chest, WXIN reported. The news outlet reports Summers was shot while delivering mail on the city’s east side Monday.”It’s real hard. This never happened to us before,” Rev. Michael Davis told the station. Davis is the pastor at Unity of Indianapolis church, where Summers was a board member.Authorities are still investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting.“To have someone so integral to the community — to have their life taken so quickly and so violently, it’s hard to take that in; it’s hard to understand that,” Davis said.Take a look at the video above for more.
