Greenville County Schools re-open August 17th and for the most part, things will look a lot more like normal this school year. Here are the highlights from today’s briefing updating the 2021-2022 Greenville County School Covid protocols:
- Masks are not required but can be worn by choice; Opt-out forms no longer required
- Schools will open on time as scheduled
- e-Learning days are capped
- Covid Vaccines are not required for staff or students
- DHEC requires people who have been in close contact with Covid infected individuals to quarantine, isolate and contact trace
- Nurses treating suspected infected individuals and suspected infected individuals must wear mask in health rooms
- Students will not be grouped by vaccination status or mask preference
- Where possible, social distancing will still be practiced
- Students within 3 feet of infected individual for more than 15 minutes must quarantine.
- Employees/Adults within 6 feet of infected individual for more than 15 minutes must quarantine
- Exposed individuals not required to quarantine if vaccinated
- Students quarantine set at 10 days, Employees quarantine for 7 days
- Water fountains are back on
- Outside food must be prepared commercially; does not apply to student’s individual lunches
- Meals will be served in the cafeteria
- Volunteers can visit schools
- Parents may eat with child per principals discretion
- School events will be held; ie Family Fun Days
- Plexiglass will not be used at student seating areas
- No Capacity restrictions for spectator sports or events
