Furman’s Mike Bothwell Named To Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List

Furman’s Mike Bothwell has earned a spot on the Lou Henson Award Mid-Season Watch List, it was announced on Tuesday by CollegeInsider.com.

Bothwell, a native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, has averaged 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game through 15 games this season, while scoring more than 20 points five times during the 2020-21 campaign. The junior guard poured in 32 points in a 78-66 win over ETSU on January 16, and totaled 26 points on 6-of-8 shooting behind the arc in an 81-57 win at College of Charleston in December.

The Lou Henson Award is given each season to the top mid-major player in the nation. Henson, who coached college basketball for 41 seasons, won 775 games as a head coach with stops at New Mexico State and Illinois during his career.
