A police chase in Greenville County Monday left a South Carolina Highway Patrol vehicle crashed in a ditch and a man under arrest, according to troopers.
Gregory Garrison, 56, faces a third offense charge of driving under suspension and charges of failure to stop and speeding, Trooper Brandon Bolt said.
The pursuit started about 12:55 p.m. when troopers attempted to pull over Garrison for a traffic violation on I-385 at the I-85 split, Bolt said.
That’s when Garrison’s 2015 black F150 pickup truck refused to stop, according to Bolt.
A patrol unit was damaged during the pursuit when it hit a ditch, Bolt said.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office was investigating that crash, according to Both.
Garrison abandoned his truck on Brentwood Circle and left the area on foot, Bolt said.
Troopers were able to later find Garrison and taken him into custody, Bolt said.
