Bon Secours announced on Friday, March 13 that it will restrict visitor access as well as points of entry to its Greenville hospitals due to the coronavirus pandemic. The new policies will go into effect on Monday, March 16, at 7 a.m until further notice. It also urged people to not visit its facilities.

The health system said the hospitals were enacting the new procedures out of concerns for patients, visitors, associates and medical providers. 

“We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation,” a release announcing the restrictions said.

For Bon Secours St. Francis Downtown, the two authorized entry points are at the outpatient entrance  at 3 St. Francis Drive and at the emergency department. Bon Secours notes that all parking spaces in the north lot of its facilities will now be for patient parking. Valet services will remain available.

For Bon Secours St. Francis Eastside, the entry points will be hospital entrance C and the emergency department. 

Associates from the hospital system will be screening all patients and visitors who are entering the buildings. 

Visitors for mothers and pediatric patients will be restricted to one partner or guardian. In the case of an end-of-life situation, Bon Secours said, “exceptions will be considered.”
