Percent Positivity Rate Indicates Virus is Spreading in the State
The Percent Positivity rate is very high and now sits at 19.7%. The percent positive is the percentage of all coronavirus tests performed that are actually positive. A higher percent positive suggests higher transmission and that there are likely more people with coronavirus in the community who haven’t been tested yet. The World Health Organization says that a rate of 5% is too high. South Carolina’s rate is almost 4 Times that amount!
