CHARLOTTE – Defensive end Brian Burns (shoulder) is among five players listed as doubtful for Sunday’s season finale against the Saints. 

As the designation suggests, all five are not expected to play. 

The other doubtfuls are running backs Christian McCaffrey (thigh) and Mike Davis (ankle), left tackle Russell Okung (calf) and cornerback Troy Pride Jr. (hip). Because he at least practiced in limited fashion on Friday, Pride is really the only one on the list who has much of a chance to suit up Sunday. 

Without McCaffrey and Davis, the Panthers’ backfield will feature young running backs Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon, plus wide receiver Curtis Samuel and fullback Alex Armah. 

Michael Schofield will start in place of Okung, who’s played just seven games this season.
