2 businessmen first in nation charged with fraudulently seeking CARES Act loans

Two New England businessmen have become the first in the nation charged with allegedly filing bank loan applications fraudulently seeking more than $500,000 in forgivable loans guaranteed by the Small Business Administration under the CARES Act, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.Federal authorities say David A. Staveley, aka Kurt D. Sanborn, 52, of Andover, Massachusetts, and David Butziger, 51, of Warwick, Rhode Island, are charged with
