Week 5 Thursday Injury Report: Chris Manhertz limited in practice

CHARLOTTE — Tight end Chris Manhertz (ankle) was limited in practice on Thursday, maintaining his status from the week’s first session.

Manhertz has caught three passes for 29 yards this season, including a 17-yard completion in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals that offensive coordinator Joe Brady called one of the game’s key plays.

Though cornerback Eli Apple (hamstring) was limited on Wednesday, he did not participate Thursday. The former first-round pick suffered the injury during a special teams play against Arizona. Apple dealt with a hamstring injury during training camp, but pulled the opposite hamstring during Sunday’s game.

Carolina had eight other players practice in full, including cornerback Donte Jackson (toe), and left tackle
