CHARLOTTE – The Panthers have had to patch together an offensive line at times this year, and this week could extend that trend.
Left tackle Russell Okung didn’t practice Thursday as he recovers from another calf injury, and he’s been listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against the Packers.
With reserve Greg Little going on injured reserve with an ankle problem, that would leave the Panthers thin up front if Okung is not able to go.
Panthers coach Matt Rhule said that versatile backup Michael Schofield could plug in as Trent Scott’s backup at left tackle if Okung is unavailable, and they always have the option of flipping right tackle Taylor Moton.
Rhule also said Aaron Monteiro or Matt Kaskey could be promoted from the practice squad for additional cover.
