CHARLOTTE – Russell Okung on Thursday was limited for a second straight day of practice, but the left tackle is inching closer to a return.
Okung, who’s missed the past four games with a calf injury, could return this weekend against the Vikings. Or he may have to wait out the Week 13 bye.
“Whether it’s this week or the Denver game, we’ll see. We’ll see if he’s ready,” head coach Matt Rhule said. “We’re monitoring him throughout the week, seeing how he responds to reps. We’re hopeful he can play, but if he’s not, we’re also repping Trenton (Scott) to make sure that he’s ready to go.”
The Panthers are also hoping right guard John Miller can face the Vikings. Miller, who sat out last week’s win over the Lions with knee and ankle injuries, was limited for a second straight day.
