IN PERSON ABSENTEE VOTING BEGINS SEPTEMBER 28. >> I’M WAITING ON A COUPLE OF PATCHES TO CHANGE THE DATE. >> THE DIRECTOR OF ELECTIONS IN SPARTANBURG COUNTY SAYS THE CORRECT DATE IS NOW OCTOBER 5 BUT HIS OFFICE HAD BEEN UNDER THE IMPRESSION IT WAS SEPTEMBER 28. >> ALL THE INFORMATION, SIGNAGE AND TALK TO DIFFERENT COMMUNITY GROUPS AROUND THE COUNTY HAVE BEEN PUSHING SEPTEMBER 28. >> HE SAYS A BILL PASSED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY RECENTLY IN GUIDANCE BY THE STATE ELECTION COMMISSION LED TO THE DATE CHANGE LAST WEEK, CREATING CONFUSION FOR VOTERS TODAY. >> WE WERE TURNED AWAY. >> SPAT TANBURG COUNTY VOTER SMITH SAYS THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT SHOWED UP TO VOTE THIS MORNING. >> THERE WAS PROBABLY CLOSE TO, I WOULD SAY BETWEEN 25 TO 50 THERE THEN. AS I WAS PULLING OUT THEY WERE STILL COMING IN. >> I SAW MORE PEOPLE SHOWING UP TO VOTE THIS AFTERNOON. >> I’M FRUSTRATED. A LITTLE CONFUSED WHY THEY DIDN’T CHANGE THE SIGN. OR AT LEAST HAVE SOMEONE NEAR TO TELL YOU THAT THERE WAS A CHANGE. >> SHE SAYS TO THOSE VOTERS FRUSTRATED — >> THIS WAS PASSED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
