Social Distancing is a shared experience that we all are dealing with in unique and varied ways. We thought if would be interesting to see how people across the Upstate are handling this situation and get their outlook on things going forward.

Today we talk with Lindsey Fulcher, Community Engagement Director and Team Reporter for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Having worked with Lindsey during the past season on a weekly video promotional series, we were excited to see how she is dealing with Social Distancing.

  • What has surprised you most about Social Distancing?

How sad it makes me! How long it has lasted. How often I typically have a conversation face to face.

  • Do you see Social Distancing having a lasting effect or do you see this as a temporary phase that will be unlikely to affect the way we live and interact longterm?

Definitely a lasting effect. In the future even when people are told they can, it may be less to start with because people may fear it but also have created a habit of not. I think shortly after, people will come to terms and hopefully everyone will be even more loving than before & rejoice together!!

  • What’s the first thing you plan on doing once this is all over?

Going to work! Having a big community event to celebrate our hockey season.

  • What’s your favorite way to cope with Social Distancing?

Being outside, making it a goal do learn or do something new every day.

  • Has your view on what’s essential changed over the past few weeks?

Definitely. Grocery store workers are incredible. They are working so hard. As well as airline mechanics. Now is the time for them to get ahead & be able to be equipped to keep people safe when the planes are able to fly again.

  • Tell us about your organization or business and how we can help promote what you are doing during this challenging time.

The Swamp Rabbits are posting good news weekly!! We are finding positives & trying to tell the stories so that it can brighten someone’s day if they have only heard or focused on the negatives.
