Upstate nonprofit helping people out of work due to coronavirus

The Carolina Climbing Coalition is helping to employ people impacted by COVID-19. The nonprofit organization out of Asheville was established in 1995. Its mission is to protect, preserve, and expand climbing opportunities in the Carolina’s. The 2-mile path will have a rise of 1,400 feet in elevation and link climbers to unexplored granite rock.The crew of eight that is building the trail is comprised of climbing enthusiasts who were laid off from their jobs due to COVID-19.The group hopes to complete the trail by the end of August, but is in need of donations. To help the group reach the peak visit their website.
