Tracking Zeta: Upstate tropical storm watch

Hi. Everybody want to give you an update based on the latest with Zeta? It is making a faster and a stronger approach to Louisiana, which means it is still going to be a tropical storm over the western Carolinas. This means the winds are going to be stronger then even a previously anticipated sustained winds could be up to 45 MPH when it moves across the western Carolinas tomorrow morning. Let me show you that fresh track that just came out moments ago landfall later this afternoon into the evening hours in southeast Louisiana. Then it books it up through Alabama, Georgia, and then it’s smack dab in our area Thursday morning with sustained winds at 45 MPH, gusting at times higher than that. This could bring down some trees and could give us some power outages and its in, and it’s out very quickly, so our morning commute on Thursday looks very, very messy. I’m honestly concerned about the timing of this, because that’s when many people are out and about, so rain begins to pick up late tonight. You see this heavy rain setting up? It’s 6 a.m. by 7 a.m. We’ve got heavy rain across the area. This as the heaviest bands with Zeta are moving across our area, likely still is a tropical storm with those sustained winds around 40 to 45 MPH gusting at times higher than that. And then the rain starts to slack up. But we’re not done just yet. When we get into the afternoon hours, that’s what we’ll be watching for these little discrete cells. We have a little bit of clearing. We get warmer and were unstable. So this last line that moves through between two o’clock and six o’clock could give us the possibility of some severe weather, including ah, brief spin up tornadoes.
