Tornado touched down in Laurens County, NWS says

The National Weather Service confirmed Friday night that an EF0 tornado touched down in Laurens County on Thursday afternoon. According to NWS, the tornado began around 5 p.m., 4 miles west of Whitmire and ended nearly 3 miles away.The tornado traveled 1.8 miles with speeds reaching 75 mph, NWS said.NWS said that damage from the tornado was limited to about a dozen downed trees.
