The Children’s Museum of the Upstate (TCMU) is proud to host a very special “Countdown to Kindergarten” event. This educational festival focuses on our area’s rising kindergarteners and their families to mark the exciting transition into elementary school. “Countdown to Kindergarten” gathers families, educators, and community members to support this transition – and gives us all a reason to celebrate this developmental milestone for our early learners!
The Countdown to Kindergarten Festival will take place on Thursday, August 13th, 2015 from 6pm – 8pm at TCMU. The evening will include FREE admission to the museum, free vision screenings, informational booths, games, music, and dance for rising K5 children and their families. Families can connect with representatives from Upstate school districts, state agencies, and local organizations to learn about educational, health, and community resources available to them. In addition, rising kindergarteners can see a real fire truck and learn safety skills in the Greenville County Fire Department’s safety house.
This event is specifically designed as a celebration for rising K5 children who are beginning the K5 curriculum and their families. Members without a rising kindergartener in their families will have to pay admission for this special after hours event designed solely for K5 children.
Countdown to Kindergarten is presented by The Children’s Museum of the Upstate in collaboration with Greenville First Steps. Additional support is provided by Publix Super Market Charities, SC Future Scholars, and Brown Mackie College.
