The best meteor shower of the year peaks tonight
Things on the ground may be… less than ideal, but tonight the sky is making up for it. The Perseids meteor shower peaks on the night of August 11-12, when up to 75 meteors per hour will be visible zooming through the night sky.
The best time to view the celestial display is between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning when the meteors can be seen with the naked eye in every direction. For best viewing results, keep the moon out of your direct line of sight as you search for shooting stars.
