Spartanburg Children’s Museum of the Upstate Hosting Countdown to Kindergarten

TCMU-Spartanburg’s annual event, Countdown to Kindergarten, returns this year on Friday, August 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A free community event, Countdown to Kindergarten invites families with rising 3K, 4K and Kindergarteners to get ready for the school year ahead.
Magnolia Street, in front of TCMU-Spartanburg in Downtown Spartanburg, will be blocked off to allow community partners to set-up and provide resources for children and families. Parents and caretakers can interact with community partners, while children learn how to pack a lunch tray, see the inside of a school bus and so much more!
Event partners are all primarily focused on student success and childhood development. Event partners committed as of June 29, 2021 include Advanced Therapy Solutions, Arts in Motion, Ballet Spartanburg, Spartanburg County District 6, Girls Scouts, Healthy Smiles of Spartanburg, Hope Center for Children, Kidding Around Spartanburg/Greenville, The Chaser Initiative, McCulloh Therapeutic Solutions, Safe Kids of the Piedmont, Spartanburg County First Steps, Spartanburg County Public Library, Spartanburg Water, Spartanburg Youth Theatre, and Student Solutions.
“We are so grateful to our sponsors and community partners for helping us welcome families to Magnolia Street for Countdown to Kindergarten!” says Jami Wood Emory, VP Spartanburg, “This event will bring together students, families, and community groups to provide resources and activities focused on Kindergarten readiness in both an informative, and engaging way.”
This event is free to all that RSVP and more information can be found at www.tcmupstate.org/countdown-to-kindergarten. This event is made possible by generous support from event sponsors: Spartanburg County First Steps, Spartanburg Water, AFL, and Purpose Financial.
