Rabid bobcat found in Lexington County, SC

A bobcat is the latest animal to be found infected with rabies in Lexington County, SC, according to South Carolina’s Department of Health and Environmental Control. No people are known to have come into contact with the sick animal, but at least four dogs were exposed. 

The bobcat is the seventh animal in Lexington County to test positive for rabies this year, The State reports. Bobcats live across the entire state of South Carolina but are most commonly found in the Coastal Plain.
