After 25 years, there are very few places that haven’t been touched by the Gipsy Kings’ ground-breaking music. They’ve played the streets of Cannes, toured in countless countries, and reached the top of American and World charts with hit songs like the highly loved (and highly recognizable) “Bomboleo.”
The Gipsy Kings’ music- described as a blend of traditional Flamenco styles with Western Pop and Latin rhythms- has earned them a Grammy® and been featured in top entertainment like The Big Lebowski, Toy Story 3 and Glee.
The Gipsy Kings’ influences span many different genres, from Bob Marley to The Eagles, and their performances are brilliantly infused with cues from Brazilian and Carribbean culture. Their newest album, Savor Flamenco, brings the band back to the United States with infectious rhythm, traditional sound and exceptional musicianship.
We’re lucky to have the Gipsy Kings, and opening artist Elijah Wolf, performing at the Peace Concert Hall, Saturday, August 15.
