Pimento and Prose Shares Their Halloween Weekend Foodie Fun

Our friends at Pimento and Prose had a huge Halloween Weekend and were nice enough to share their Foodie Finds!

Hope you’ve had a spook-tacular time celebrating! For this edition of Foodie Adventures, join us as we check out breakfast at the newly opened Reid’s Fine Foods, and dive into some delish Halloween themed treats from Rhapsody Baking Greenville and Naked Pasta.

Reid’s Fine Foods – Grand opening weekend

Y’all know how much we love grand openings around here by now! From small town shops to restaurants and more, we love shining a spotlight on our favorite new foodie finds.

We were super excited to hear that Reid’s Fine Foods was going to be occupying the space across from Tupelo Honey Cafe Downtown, in the old Caviar & Bananas location that closed earlier this year.

From cakes to specialty Italian good, they have it all! Their meat case, cold and hot bar, pre-made frozen meals and ingredients, and bone broths are what’s they’re known for. Oh, did I mention it’s also a wine bar?

Rhapsody Baking – Halloween Cookies

I don’t give love to my baker friends enough, but I have a lot of them! My friend Morgan from Rhapsody Baking Greenville recently started her own line of VIP Subscription boxes that include anything from mini cheesecakes, to her famous French macarons, gorgeously designed royal icing cookies, and more.

This Halloween, she was inspired by the movie “Hocus Pocus”, and decided to theme both the macaron flavors and colors and the royal icing cookies after the Sanderson sisters!

Each of the cookies with characters were apple cider flavored with an apple cider royal icing. I know she worked around the clock to get these done, even with the hurricane and power outages that could have completely ruined how humidity sensitive these can be to make. She did an absolutely amazing job and they’re almost too pretty to eat!!

Naked Pasta – Halloween Dinner

Halloween night was actually a pretty quiet night in for us, however, we still decided to celebrate in a subtle way.

My friend Charlotte had never been to Greenville before, so when she came to visit for Max’s birthday on Friday, we promised to give her the grand tour the next day. Saturday morning was spent at brunch and taking her to see two of my most recommended spots downtown – the TD Farmers Market and Falls Park!

While I took no pictures from the farmers market, we did get these great pictures of the park and the two of us. We were friends in college (Go Niners!) but we hadn’t seen much of each other since we graduated and I moved south. Jamie and I were happy to show her around downtown, from Wyche Pavilion and the Art Walk across the street, to the famous farmers market on the way back.

Along with some great produce for Charlotte’s trip home, the black board sign in front of Naked Pasta‘s booth caught my eye. What were “Trick or Treat” raviolis? I said, as I stopped mid-walk to study the board closer. These were their sweet potato, bourbon, and bacon raviolis wrapped in a squid ink pasta (so black on the outside and orange on the inside, super festive!).
