Songwriter’s Recipe at Zen
Thursday, September 19th

Enjoy a night of musical performances and stories from legendary songwriters and take home exclusive recipes from the evening’s chefs. Patrick Davis, James Otto, Levi Lowrey & Wyatt Durrette will not only perform their biggest hits and personal favorites, they will also reveal the inspiration behind their music. Before the musicians take the stage, enjoy a cocktail reception and small bites from some of the Southeast’s top chefs.

History plays a big part in any region’s cuisine, and Greenville is no exception. History and foodie fans alike will want to snag a spot on this walking tour and wine lunch. Before lunch, you’ll hear some of Greenville’s early tales on a walking tour of downtown with art historian John Nolan. Once your head is filled with history, head to Jianna to fill your belly with the coveted cuisine of a local triumvirate of chefs: Michael Kramer, chef/partner of Jianna; Jeff Kelly, executive chef of Stella’s Southern Brasserie; and Greg McPhee, chef/owner of The Anchorage.

TV personality, award-winning author and sommelier, Laurie Forster, delivers an edgy, off-beat hilarious seminar where wine meets punchline. Using her down to earth approach to “wine education,” Forster peels back the labels of a few of her favorite wines while she exposes some deep secrets of the wine industry and why she thinks it’s so darn funny!
In this classroom you’ll join Laurie for a tasting of different styles of Rosé to find out your favorite way to drink pink. Laurie will introduce you to the best wine regions, grapes and producers of Rosé and why it is one of the hottest growing categories of wine in 2019. Along the way, you’ll also learn the subtle differences between various styles of Rosé, what foods pair well with each and why it’s so easy to Rosé All Day!

Sunday Brunch: Fired Up!

One of euphoria’s most popular events, the Sunday Brunch features a group of guest pitmasters offering up some of the best ‘cue in the Southeast. Beyond barbecue, more than a dozen local and regional chefs will be serving up classic brunch fare. It wouldn’t truly be brunch without Bloody Marys and mimosas, and they’ll be flowing freely, accompanied by Sunday morning tunes by My Girl My Whiskey and Me.

You’ll get plenty of greens—and other veggies too—at this plant-based dinner, held in downtown Travelers Rest at Topsoil Kitchen & Market. Brian McKenna, who crafts the tasty vegan and raw fare at Southern Pressed Juicery, will team up with Chef Adam Cooke (who designs the delectable food menu at Due South Coffee Roasters) for this outside-the-box dinner. You’ll be amazed what these chefs can do with an armful of local vegetables—and you’ll never miss the meat!

Take the storied American regional cuisine of Chef Jacob Sessoms and match it with rare and vintage sour beers from Wicked Weed’s head sour brewer Jenn Currier, and you’ve got a partnership made in funky heaven. Sessoms, who founded Table in downtown Asheville, recently opened Cultura, a restaurant in Wicked Weed’s Funkatorium, the first taproom on the East Coast dedicated to sour and funky beer.
