Officials: Squirrel to blame for nearly 3K power outages in Greer

GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) Several Greer CPW customers may have found themselves without power early Sunday afternoon.

For a period of time, there were nearly 3,000 customers affected by the outage – leaving people’s homes and businesses without power, even several traffic lights out.

What was to blame, you might ask?

Greer CPW says a squirrel knocked the power out.

They said crews were hoping to restore power to customers within a few hours. To stay up to date with outages in Greer, and when they’ll be restored, <a href=”https://greercpw.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=9c310dab917b49fea4e5a75dc1f4252a” target=”_blank”>click here</a>.
