NOW: Storms expected tonight, a big cool down on the way this week

This will be a week of change as temperatures soar into the 80s on Monday and fall into the 60s by Saturday, WYFF News 4’s Parella Lewis said.A frontal system near the Upstate of South Carolina today will spark an unsettled weather pattern Monday afternoon and evening. “Popcorn” showers and an isolated thunderstorm or two are possible. Most of the Upstate has a low risk for severe thunderstorms by tonight, however most locations will stay dry, Lewis said.Heading into the overnight and early Tuesday morning, a cluster of thunderstorms will move through the western North Carolina mountains and Upstate bringing a chance for strong winds and hail along with heavy downpours as well.A second round of thunderstorms drive through the region along a cold front that could trigger more thunderstorms into the evening hours. The chance for an isolated tornado is low at this time, but cannot be ruled out. We will watch this system very closely.
