NC sees lowest single-day COVID-19 cases since mid-November

North Carolina health officials reported less than 2,000 new cases Tuesday, the lowest single-day report since before Thanksgiving.

Cases in North Carolina: 826,340 lab-confirmed cases with 10,562 deaths. DHHS reported 1,988 new cases on Tuesday. The percentage of positive test results is averaging 7.9% over the last two weeks. NCDHHS is reporting that 1,958 people are hospitalized statewide due to COVID-19.

Cases in South Carolina: 428,684 total cases of COVID-19 with 7,196 deaths. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced 868 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday. DHEC is reporting 16 new confirmed deaths. The percentage of positive tests is 5.9%. SCDHEC is reporting that 1,230 people are hospitalized statewide due to COVID-19.

Cases in Mecklenburg County: 92,589 Mecklenburg County residents have tested positive for the coronavirus and 832 related deaths have been reported since the pandemic began. 9.1% of individuals tested were positive for COVID-19 over the past week. #COVID19 #Coronavirus #Vaccine
