Man shot dead in Greenville County, deputies say

A man was shot dead Friday afternoon in Greenville County, according to Lt. Ryan Flood, with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies responded to a shooting call on Neely Mill Road at around 4:20 p.m., Flood said. According to Flood, deputies found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene.Deputies are talking with a person of interest, Flood said.A fight broke out between two adults who lived at the Neely Mill Road address, according to Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans.The coroner has identified the victim as Jerry Andrew Gentry Jr., 48, of Greer.According to Flood, the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community.An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, Evans said.
