Officials are investigating after a man died from a gunshot wound in Laurens County, the deputy coroner says.Patti Canupp says 31-year-old Freddie Markell Byrd, of Clinton, died from a gunshot wound.Canupp says the incident happened around 2:55 a.m. Saturday.A manner of death has not yet been released, pending an autopsy scheduled for Monday.Officials say SLED and Clinton Police were both called in to investigate the incident.
