South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster is holding a media briefing alongside state public health officials on the state’s response to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus.The briefing is at 4 p.m. and will be televised.(Video above: Sunday headlines)The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is investigating six new possible cases of the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, in the Palmetto State.This brings the total number of cases in South Carolina to 19.The LATEST on Coronavirus in SC, NC, Georgia.“We emphasize the importance of practicing disease prevention measures and following recommendations for social distancing to protect our community as a whole,” said Dr. Linda Bell, state epidemiologist.Three new cases are from Beaufort County. Two cases are close contacts of each other and had known exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19 from another state. The other case has no known connection to any other case and recently traveled internationally. All
