Kylie Odetta Releasing New EP

Soul/Pop Artist, Kylie Odetta, is releasing 5 new songs this April 17th, 2020. The EP is called “Roots & Petals” and will be the first EP Odetta has released since “Undertow” in 2017. After the wonderful success of her singles “Under The Sun” and “Too Broke Too Busy” in 2019 with “Under The Sun” reaching over 140,000 streams on Spotify and “Too Broke Too Busy” winning the UMA for Best Music Video in the Upstate along with creating a community of dreamers through Kylie’s #toobroketuesday’s on social media, listeners can expect another epic and compelling project from 22 year old Odetta. Read on for details about the new EP:

Recorded in Nashville TN, Madison WI, and Greenville SC – this collection of songs was woven together over space and time. The title track “Roots & Petals” took over 2 years for Odetta to finalize after recording and then re-recording multiple different versions. Why you might ask? This is the song that shares the story of Kylie’s personal battle with anxiety and intrusive thoughts. As an artist, she was willing to wait until the right moment with the right music to tell of this deeply transformative experience. It was well worth the wait because listening to the “Roots & Petals” EP is like coming up for air. Each song is delicate, etherial, and sprinkled with hope. The sound of the EP is refreshingly stripped back featuring mainly piano, strings, and Odetta’s glittering vocals. There are songs with hints of gospel, pop, and even lofi indie intricacies. It’s brave and it’s timeless.

They say that April showers bring May flowers… well Kylie Odetta is bringing the rain this April 17th. Filled with some of her most vulnerable lyrics to date, “Roots & Petals” will lay bare her soul and spirit in the pursuit of healing. A thread of light weaves this emotional and relatable EP together even as it wades through deep and sometimes heavy water. Kylie has found that there is vibrant life on the other side of painful experiences. So press play and get ready to “take a breath, take one step, and start again…”

The new EP will be available on all streaming platforms including Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music on April 17th. There will be multiple accompanying music videos, new merch, and visual arts to support the release.
