The wait is almost over — Vietnamese restaurant Pink Bellies will open for takeout on Sunday, March 28. From food truck to food stall to pop-ups, a large fan base has followed chef/owner Thai Phi around Charleston, and now they will have a permanent location to find his food at 595 King Street. Starting Sunday, an ordering link will go live on pinkbellies.com and the Instagram account.

Phi says that by starting takeout only he hopes to create “… a light-hearted segue to the completely new immersive indoor dining menu — a menu that leaves us feeling a bit exposed as chefs/artists.” He says that he wants to wait until more of the population is vaccinated against COVID before opening the dining room.
