The director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday accepted the recommendation of the agency’s vaccine advisory committee, clearing the way for Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine to be administered in the US.

The news followed Saturday’s vote by the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP)
