Hasan to lead Greenville Tech’s School of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technology

Greenville Technical College announced that Abul Hasan, Ph.D., will serve as dean for its School of Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering and director of the Center of Manufacturing Innovation.

Hasan has worked in higher education for 28 years with more than 12 years in leadership. He has previously served as dean of the School of Engineering Technologies at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, director of academic affairs for the Australian College of Kuwait and academic dean for George Mason University’s Ras Al Khaimah Campus in the United Arab Emirates.

“We are thrilled to bring a creative and analytical problem solver of Dr. Hasan’s caliber to an important role at Greenville Technical College,” said vice president for learning and workforce development Jermaine Whirl, Ph.D. “Our advanced manufacturing and engineering technology programs will benefit from the experienced leadership and clear vision he brings to the position.”

Hasan was also an assistant professor, professor and chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and head of electrical and electronic engineering technology at Yanbu Industrial College in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to his academic career, he previously worked in the industrial industry as an assistant engineer for the Bangladesh Power Development Board and as an engineer with Tripoli Electricity Corporation in Libya.

He is a graduate of the University of Engineering and Technology in Bangladesh, the University of North Dakota and the University of Wyoming.
