Greenville’s Centre Stage Hosting Young Artist Showcase May 13th

After an audition and interview process, a handful of up and coming theatre artists enrolled in high schools, colleges, and Universities in the Upstate were selected for inclusion in the first ever Centre Stage Young Artist Showcase. Come and celebrate their talent and the incredible future of the arts in Greenville and beyond!

After a reception of hors d’oeuvres held at 6pm, a delightful evening of theatre will ensue at 7pm with acts prepared and presented by selected young artists of the Upstate. Featured talents will include musical and non-musical theatre performances in solo performance, playwriting, and theatrical design work. The evening will be emceed by WSPA’s Jamarcus Gaston.

To be selected for the showcase, students were recommended by a South Carolina educator, prepared an audition, and submitted a headshot and resume to Centre Stage as they would in a professional setting. All students who participate in the showcase will have the opportunity to be considered for an internship at Centre Stage and further professional development opportunities. In addition three cash prizes will be awarded to standout participants in the showcase!

This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required for entry. The showcase will be held outdoors and socially-distanced on the Upper Deck behind the Centre Stage building thanks to our partnership with Hughes Investments. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be rescheduled and a rain date announced.
