Greenville Zoo Launches ZooMeetings

The Greenville Zoo has a new way to connect people to nature and generate some much-needed revenue during its closure. With ZooMeetings, for a contribution of $75 or $100, zoo supporters can partner with the Greenville Zoo to liven up their next virtual meeting. The meeting organizer selects their favorite animal from the list provided and a Greenville Zoo educator will kick off the virtual meeting with a brief introduction. To schedule a ZooMeeting, call the Greenville Zoo Education Department at (864) 467-4850, email zooed@greenvillesc.gov or visit www.greenvillezoo.com/ZooMeeting. A minimum of 48-hours’ notice is requested.

Zoo visitors, events and programs help fund animal care, educational experiences and conservation work; however, to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, the zoo has been closed since March 14 and has canceled all events through May. This has resulted in a loss of critical revenue needed to keep the zoo running. Even so, the Greenville Zoo continues to provide the best possible care for the animals and offers a variety of virtual animal encounters and keeper check-ins each week to give the public a unique look into day-to-day life for the zoo staff and residents.

ZooMeetings will allow animal lovers to show their support and help ensure that the Greenville Zoo can continue to fulfill its mission by providing programming that educates and inspires the community.
