The Greenville Drive begin their penultimate homestand of the 2018 season on Wednesday, August 15th! This marks the final seven-game homestand of the season, and the Drive will recognize local members of the community in the fields of education, construction, medicine and more. The Drive will also welcome the Carolina Panthers and the Furman Paladins in a celebration of local sports. In addition to the great entertainment on the books this week, the baseball is high-stakes! The Drive are still in the mix for the Southern Division title and a South Atlantic League playoff berth, so every game matters as the Drive look to make their second straight postseason appearance.

The homestand begins on Wednesday, August 15th as Fluor Field will host the annual AJ Whittenberg Day in celebration the students, teachers and faculty of AJ Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering, as well as STEM education. The game begins at 7:05 PM, and students and teachers will get the opportunity to participate in pregame ceremonies and in-game entertainment, and the first 100 students who arrive when the gates open at 6:00 PM will receive a Drive robot figurine. Robotics and other interactive science displays from AJ Whittenberg partners, including Fluor, Michelin, Hubbell Lighting and GE will also be on display along the concourse to highlight the importance and excitement of engineering in our community.
Thurday, August 16th is a busy day at Fluor Field, and the fun begins at 4:00 PM with the Coast Launch Party at the Drive Team Store! The Drive are celebrating their new partnership with Coast Apparel with a special event that features Drive and Coast co-branded merchandise and light refreshments, and the first 50 fans to make a purchase will receive a Coast koozie and a complimentary ticket to that night’s 7:05 game! In addition, fans who make any Coast purchases this homestand will be entered to win great gifts before the end of the season, including $100 gift cards from the Drive and Coast, as well as tickets to see the Red Sox and Braves in Atlanta in September!
The Drive are also excited to welcome the Carolina Panthers to Fluor Field as part of their “Two States. One Team.” Tour! When the gates open at 6:00 PM, the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Panthers t-shirt, and fans will enjoy special appearances by Sir Purr, the TopCats cheerleaders, the Purrcussion drumline, the Black and Blue spirit crew, and Panthers alumni! Children of all ages will get to participate in interactive stations and games around the stadium as well. The Drive will be wearing custom “One Carolina” jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game, and all auction proceeds will go towards Mobile Meals of Spartanburg.
Thursday is also the final Dollar Drink Night of the 2018 season at Fluor Field! Fans over 21 are invited to the 500 Club for $1 Keystone Light, $2 Jai Alai Pale Ale from Cigar City Brewing and a great menu of shareable food options! $1 Pepsi products will be available at all Fluor Field concession stands throughout the night as well.
Fans of all ages will enjoy the entertainment on Friday, August 17th. First pitch is at 7:05 PM, and following the game, the Hubbell Lighting “Light it Up” Friday Night Fireworks show will cap the night! The musical theme for the fireworks show is TV Tunes, and you’ll hear your favorite songs from TV shows past and present as part of the fun. Friday also marks the triumphant return of the ZOOperstars! to Fluor Field. The hijinks of these sports-themed inflatable characters is well-known, and they provide a great show between innings!

Be sure to join us at Fluor Field on Saturday, August 18th for Furman Fan Fest! This special kickoff of the Furman athletics season begins at 5:30 PM. Fans are invited to take part in the fun, which includes a meet and greet with Furman student-athletes and coaches, a live airing of the Dan Scott Show featuring the Voice of the Paladins, a Kids Zone with cornhole, pop-a-shot, face painting and more, and a chance to win great prizes, including Furman football tickets for games against Clemson and Wofford, tailgate packages and much more! First pitch against the Crawdads is at 7:05, and tickets are available now, including an $8 package of Fan Fest plus the Drive game, as well as a $15 ticket that also includes an all-you-can-eat tailgate picnic.
The Drive and Michelin, N.A. will team up to celebrate the Summer Reading All-Stars of the Upstate on Sunday, August 19th. All year long, the Drive are proud to celebrate students who have excelled in their school reading programs, and students in the Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and Pickens County Library Systems who continue to read during the summer will be recognized on this special day. First pitch is at 4:05 PM, and students who receive their vouchers for the game will receive a Michelin Reading All-Stars t-shirt and get to participate in a pregame parade at 3:30, as well as the chance to be a part of fun in-game activities and entertainment. Following the game, Reading All-Stars and all children are invited to stick around for BlueCross BlueShield Kids Run the Bases!
On Monday, August 20th, Fluor Field will host Construction Industry Night presented by Harris Flooring. First pitch is at 7:05 PM, and all throughout the evening, the success of the construction industry in the Upstate will be celebrated. A pregame reception will be held in the Champions Club presented by Hubbell Lighting, to recognize prominent local construction projects. All throughout the night, several construction industry champions from Trehel and Sunbelt Rentals. will be featured in pregame honorary positions and between-innings entertainment that highlight the importance of the construction industry to Greenville.
Also on Monday, the Drive will be holding a special $2 Mystery Beer promotion in the 500 Club for fans over 21. This promotion will feature some of the previous beers of the month at Fluor Field, including SweetWater 420, Miller High Life and Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy.
The homestand concludes on Tuesday, August 21st with GHS Night at Fluor Field. Greenville Health System and the Drive have a longstanding partnership, and the Drive will recognize the many accomplishments of GHS personnel throughout the evening, including a special recognition for the GHS Nursing community. GHS employees will take part in a pregame Ballpark Bash at Fluor Field in celebration of another great year with the Drive, and key representatives will hold pregame honorary positions, while special in-game recognitions and videos will highlight the continuous impact GHS has on the Upstate community. First pitch for Tuesday’s series finale against the Crawdads is at 7:05 PM.
